On the morning of Wednesday 1st March, a group of 17 walkers from the Erddig Nordic walking group walked for 3 miles around the woods and farmland surrounding the walled gardens, finishing their walk with a stroll around the woodlands and gardens at Erlas.
Everyone enjoyed a warm drink and home-made cakes in the ’round-house’, and some freshly cropped produce was also available.
We raised around £60 from this event, and are looking forward to welcoming parties throughout the year. Our Quiz night was held last Friday at the Wrexham Lager Club, and a good time was had by all. Thanks to Jane for organising the event, and with lots of super raffle prizes, a total of £160 was made.
Many creatures are awakening now, with our pond full of spawning frogs, newts and diving beetles. Peacock butterflies have been ‘rescued’ from log piles too. Spring is on its way at last. (fingers crossed!)
