Erlas Walled Garden Volunteers host a stall at the Erddig Apple Festival on 1st and 2nd October.

Over the weekend of 1st and 2nd October, 9 volunteers manned a stall at the Annual Erddig Apple Festival. Unfortunately the weather was cold, wet and windy on the Saturday, and thanks to Mike, Sheila, Sue and Jane for braving the weather, and helping to sell some of our produce and home-made crafts, and to spread the word about what we do at the Walled Gardens, and about our ambitious plans if our Create Your Space application is successful. The weather on Sunday was glorious, with many more visitors visiting Erddig. Thanks to Liz and Jim, Sylvia and Ian and to Richard for promoting our work. Thank you also to Rachael and Sue of the National Trust who invited us, we hope we are asked next year too. As we were next to their stall, (encouraging people to volunteer for the Trust), Rachael tells me that both stalls had around 100 enquiries from visitors on the Saturday, and 250 enquiries on the Sunday. We have already had a visit from someone who would like to volunteer with us. To top it all, we made £189. Thanks too to Libby and Ian for organising things.
